a sweet and sunny day

so far, being twenty-four is pretty fantastic.

my sweet mom came in town to celebrate with me!

we had a yummy brunch at tiny boxwoods,

including a perfect vanilla latte the size of my face,

and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and cool weather on the patio.

after brunch, we headed to rice village for a little bit of shopping,

and then to crave for a yummy bithday cupcake!

red velvet is a family birthday tradition.

yummmmmmm.

sweet raider used his most intense and most cutest stare down face.

please mom, just one little crumb?

this might have been the one and only time i didn't give in to those big brown eyes.

nothing gets between me and a red velvet crave cupcake.

thankful in the busyness

lately, i feel like i can't catch my breath.  

as soon as one project wraps up, another giant one is looming around the corner. 

don't get me wrong, i am very thankful for our busy lives and i'm very thankful for the many blessings that we have and for the time we do get to spend together. 

but sometimes, 

i wish i was a little more successful in my 2013 resolution to slow down and be still.

a sweet puppy that welcomes me home every day,

for a puppy that doesn't hate me for putting him in a sweater,

for a sweet bub-hub that helps me hang shelves in the living room while the football game is on,

for a coat and cute scarves that kep me warm in the chilly weather,

that cuties are in season again,

for the post office, even if they run late sometimes.

today, i am thankful for:
a patient bub-hub that helps me hang way to many frames on the walls,
an iphone case that keeps my phone from shattering whenever i drop it on the ground,
dry shampoo,
chick fil a breakfast date with bub-hub after showing up to vote at 6:30 am,
a freezing cold office where i can wear my sweaters and boots when it's 80 degrees outside.
