a wrapping wednesday

this might make me sound like a lame-o, but one of my favorite things to do is wrap gifts.
when i was younger, i used to play "gift wrap store" and my dad would "place orders" for me to wrap gifts for him for family members, friends, co-workers.
i even had a cash register y'all...
#nerdalerttimesseven
i love the final presentation.
the way a gift is wrapped and presented just says a lot about the amount of time and thought that went into it.
what can i say, i just love pretty packages tied up with string! :)

yes please. black kraft paper and white chalk marker. sign me up.

personalized washi gift tape, genius.
perfect alternative to a gift tag: to you from me.
loving it.

patterned paper isn't just for scrapbookers! :)
i love how the paper ribbons are so simlar but just enough different.

ever wonder what to do with your paper grocery bags?
wrap with some cute twine, or stamp with a pretty holiday image, or use washi tape to attach a card or note.
you're golden and green!

i also love adding "extras" to the package, like this super fun bracelet! it's just one extra place to add a little something extra for the person you're giving to!

thank goodness the holidays are finally getting close!it's time to get wrappin! :)

speaking of gifts...

fall sweets and treats

i really try hard to expand my pinning beyond the wonderful world of food and sweets, but alas, it's nearly impossible. they all looked so scrumptious i couldn't resist!

pumpkin creme brule. it should be illegal.

pumpkin chocolate chip bread.
at first, i wasn't sure how i felt about chocolate and pumpkin being mixed, but let me tell you,
it is quite the fabulous combination.

double chocolate cake bread.
four of my favorite words put together into one fabulous creation.

pumpkin pie bars. duh.

if only i could actually recreate these in real life. even with bakerella's step-by-step-for-dummies directions, i'm pretty sure my ghosts would still turn out like blobs.

mmmmmm cupcakes! :)
all day, errr day.

speaking of sweets,
have you signed up for our sweet treats swap?!
you know you want to! :)

in loveeee with pinning

dear world,
my best friend is getting married on saturday.
shut the front door i'm so excited i can barely stand it!

ever since bub-hub and i said "I DO!", my appreciation and passion for what marriage and love really mean has grown and changed so much.
true love is so fun! and such a blessing from the Lord.
i think every lady deserves to be loved the right way.
don't you agree?

when i read through this list, my heart agreed with each and every one. marriage is such a beautiful thing, and my prayer is that each and every sweet lady out there has the blessing of experiencing it the way the sweet Lord intended.

this is just so cute.
i think it was meant for nursery, but i think it would look just as cute on my living room shelf. :)

e.e. cummings melts my heart every time.
what girl doesn't love to be told she lovelier than all the stars in the sky?

how cute are these valentines?
since i don't have kids, my co-workers are going to have to be my substitute 2nd grace classmates.

this was the verse bub-hub and i used on our save the dates.

this list is missing a few names...
bub-hub & graceface
steph and brad! :)

me + bub-hub = besties for life! :)
i know, i'm a cheese-ball.

clear the dance floor, i'm ready to get my wop on.
humiliation is about to ensue.

it's tea time :)

one of my favorite things about fall is drinking warm drinks from huge mugs.
something about warm tea on a cool morning just brings a little peace and joy to my soul.
coffee is pretty yummy as well, but nothing beats a giant mug of slightly sweet lady grey tea.

there is something about china tea cups that makes me feel like i'm taking a trip back in time, drinking tea with the queen or i'm living in a fairy tale. what can i say, i like to play pretend. :)

it is highly likely that the girls in my small group will be receiving something similar to this for christmas. i don't know who wouldn't love a gift like this, and it's so simple to put together. perfect gift for a group!

the ultimate tea pot collection. my heart is melting.

i'm 97% sure i will be having a tea cup display like this in our next apartment. i have the wall already picked out.  what's the point of having cute mugs and containers if you have to keep them behind closed cabinet doors??

cinnamon rolls are the perfect companion for a morning tea party don't you think??
then again, when are cinnamon rolls not perfect??
:)

p.s. i'm participating in my first giveaway! :)
my items are an 8x10 tea cup print and 2 personalized tea mugs! yay!

head over to ms. jen's lovely blog, that's what she read, and check out all of the lovely items and enter the giveaway!!

inspiration for a bachelorette bash! :)

last weekend i had the honor of throwing my sweet friend's bachelorette party!
i had so much fun planning and crafting and creating, it was definitely a fantastic time all around!

there were so many fun aspects to the night, and of course, i was highly inspired by pinterest. i thought i'd share a few of my favorite pins with you!

i got a giant foam poster board , taped together some envelopes, traced the edges to make my chevron stripes, and filled them in with hot pink paint.
the envelope trick was genius.

my interpretation:

in case people were unaware that the number one priority of a bachelorette party was to have fun, a little hit pink sign was clearly displayed to spread the word.

and now it's snack time! :)

a party isn't a party without cake balls! :)
as i've stated before,,,,,i am not a pretty baker.
i think it was a sign from the heavens when the groupon from Texas Cake Ballers.
i sent the owner an email with photos of the cake ball vision i had formed in my mind, mostly consisting of  sparkles and glitter,,,and she pulled it off! :) not only did the look amazing, they tasted amazing.
i highly recommend the strawberry-and-cream and chocolate fudge.
yummmmm.

my texas cake baller's interpretation:

i, along with 95% of the rest of the female population, love mimosas! i think they are so fun. it is nearly impossible to pop a bottle of champagne and not have a fun time.
when i saw this pin, i just knew we had to try it.
instead of orange juice, i served scoops of orange sherbet, for a traditional mimosa with a twist.  instead of traditional cranberry juice for poinsettias, i  had cranberry-pomegranate and served pom-settias.

original pin:

my interpretation:

each of the girl was given a take-away bag that contained the bride's favorite essie nail polish, "topless & barefoot", and a pink nail file.

original pin:

next to the sign, i placed a sign that read "when in cancun, choose topless and barefoot", to give a hint to the gift before the girls could open them.  scandalous right? bub-hub thought so. i thought it was pretty clever.

my interpretation:

we also played a few fun games!

be sure to check back tomorrow for all the fun details of the best bachelorette bash that ever was! :)
